*[Spring] Hirosaki Hirosaki Castle (Cherry Blossom Festival)
Known as the No. 1 cherry blossom festival in Japan, the 2,600 trees in full bloom is a breathtaking sight to see. There is an Apple Park nearby where you can try harvesting apples in Autumn.
Approx. 50 minutes by car.
Approx. 90 minutes by train (Gono Line) from Ajigasawa.

*[Summer] Goshogawara Tachineputa (Nebuta Festival)
Huge floats called Tachineputa are on display, standing 23 meters tall and weighing 19 tons. From the 4th to the 8th of August every year when the festival held, the sight of them parading through the town is overwhelming.

*[Summer/Autumn] Shirakami-Sanchi (Aoike, Lake Juniko) & autumn leaves
Aoike is a pond famous for its water that resembles blue ink, and here, you can see the World Heritage primeval beech forests take on their autumn colors. The reflection of the surrounding trees makes the pond even more mythical. The lush green of summer is also well worth a visit Shirakami-Sanchi.

*[Winter] Goshogawara Tsugaru Railway (Stove Train)
Operates only from December to March. It's great fun to toast dry squid over the charcoal stove in the train's retro atmosphere, and look out the window to see the snowscape!

*[Winter] Drifting Snow Tour
Kanagi-machi's unique Snow Country Drifting Snow Tour offers a very popular experience for those who have never seen snow blow up from the ground, or who live in a region with a warm climate. Of course guests from abroad are more than welcome!

Approx. 30 minutes to Goshogawara by train (Gono Line) from Ajigasawa. Approx. 25 minutes on the Tsugaru Railway from Goshogawara.

*[Winter] Hakkoda Ropeway
It can be said that Mt. Hakkoda's frost-covered trees are the best in Japan in terms of their scale, grandness, and dynamism, surpassing those of Zao and Hachimantai. The frost-covered trees can usually be seen around January and February. You will be able to see frost-covered trees in all sorts of shapes.
